Gloucestershire is a county in South West England. The county comprises part of the Cotswold Hills, part of the flat fertile valley of the River Severn, and the entire Forest of Dean. Parts of this county are also considered part of the West Country.
The county town is the city of Gloucester, and other principal towns include Cheltenham, Stroud, Tewkesbury, Cirencester and Dursley.
Gloucestershire borders Herefordshire to the north west, Wiltshire to the south, Bristol and Somerset to the south west, Worcestershire to the north, Oxfordshire to the east, Warwickshire to the north east, and the Welsh county of Monmouthshire to the west.

- Rubeus Hagrid was born in Gloucestershire (one of the counties that make up the West Country) near the Forest of Dean.
- The Gudgeon family makes their home in Tutshill, Tidenham, also outside of the Forest of Dean.
- Tutshill is the hometown of the Tutshill Tornados Quidditch team.
