Lady Cosette Malfoy (14 June, 1671 - 15 June, 1679) was the eighth child of thirteen born to Saturnius Malfoy, the 10th Duke of Wiltshire, and his wife Ambrosia Sidney, Duchess of Wiltshire. She was the younger sister of Lady Aurelia Malfoy, Lady Hermia Ollerton, Countess of Chester, and Lady Portia Black (née Malfoy). She was the twin sister of Lady Desdemona Rowle (née Malfoy).

She passed away aged seven of dragon pox. Her twin sister Desdemona lived on to survive to adulthood. She was the second of the four Malfoy sisters that did not survive childhood, after Ophelia.

Early life[]

Lady Cosette Malfoy was born on 14 June, 1671, to Ambrosia Sidney, Duchess of Wiltshire, along with her twin sister, Desdemona, who was born first. Her father was Saturnius Malfoy, the 10th Duke of Wiltshire, and she was their ninth child and daughter. The Lady Cosette was part of a string of children born soon after one another. She and her twin sister Desdemona were one year apart from twins Lucinda and Florinda.

Cosette died on 15 June, 1679, in Malfoy Manor, located in Marlborough, Wiltshire, of dragon pox. She was seven years old. She was the second of the four Malfoy sisters that did not survive childhood, as her older sister Ophelia had previously passed in 1677.

Etymology[]

It comes from the French word “chose” (meaning "thing") plus the diminutive “ette” and therefore means “little thing”.

The name Malfoy translates to "bad faith".
