Rufus Tremblay (13 February, 1870 - 17 August, 1968) was an English pure-blood wizard, and the husband of Millicent Tremblay (née Gamp). He was a member of the Ancient House of Tremblay, which was a house that had connections all over Europe.

He was the father of Philippa and Boudica Tremblay.

Biography

Early life (1870s)

Rufus was born in Scriven, Yorkshire, England to Mr. and Mrs. Tremblay. He was an only child. He reportedly had cousins in France and in Germany.

The name Scriven originally meant "Hollow-place" with pits and could have referred to the quarrying that occurred nearby. Tentergate however contains the derivative "gate", which is the Scandinavian translation for street, and was the place where cloth was stretched for drying. Rufus's family lived just beyond the reach of the muggles in an unplottable location.

Hogwarts years (1880s)

Rufus Tremblay received his Hogwarts letter in July of 1881. He purchased a wand made of elm and unicorn hair sometime before starting school at Ollivander's Wand Shop in Diagon Alley.

He was Sorted into Slytherin on 1 September 1881.

In his sixth year at school, he began a casual relationship with a girl called Millicent Gamp in his year, and they became engaged in their seventh. After they graduated in 1888, they married for love.

Married life (1890s)

Rufus Tremblay was an only child and a very rich man, and Millicent took what she could to help her youngest siblings, Hector III, who was in his second year, and Martha, who was in her first year, afford their course materials. She also helped the youngest, Hesper, when it came time for her to begin school in 1890.

Rufus did not mind that he was helping them, as he didn't much care where a pocket change's worth of his money went, because he had so much of it. But when Millicent eventually asked Rufus if he would help pay for her younger sister Hesper's dowry to the House of Black in 1899, he would not stand for it. She eventually found another way without the House of Black knowing.

Raising children (1900s)

Millicent and Rufus decided that they were ready to try for children in 1900. They had two miscarriages before welcoming their daughter, Philippa on 19 October, 1902. Their second child, Boudica, was born on 12 August 1904. They had children slightly late for her era, at thirty, but as a consequence of this, his wife's younger sisters also had children around the same time.

Appearance

Rufus was thought to have been very handsome in his schooldays.

Personality and traits

He was generous to a point, and loved his wife and children. He did occasionally put his foot down when Millicent tried to get him to do something that wasn't his responsibility.
